Double Wedding Ring Infant Quilt by Amish Spirit is gorgeous! Wow! The Double Wedding Ring pattern is one of our most popular in our adult quilts category. We were thrilled to see this in an infant or crib quilt size. We also carry this pattern in pink, for girls, which can be seen HERE.

The predominant color in this quilt is blue with accent colors of pink, yellow and green. Dye fast fabrics are a mix of solids and calico prints over a white background. The edges are scalloped and hand bound in blue. Hand quilted hearts are featured in the centers of the rings. Please note that there is no hanging loop at the back of this quilt. Double Wedding Ring quilt patterns are admittedly hard to make. This traditional pattern is one of our more popular quilt patterns and this one has been scaled down to infant size. We also carry a blue Double Wedding Ring Infant quilt, which you can see HERE.

Overall Sam Quilt

Overall Sam, a much loved and popular Amish Quilt pattern is featured here in a new way. Rather than individual squares of many Overall Sam images, this crib quilt shows one highly detailed image. Take a closer look at the hand quilted detail. There are unusual patterns in this Overall Sam Quilt that we’ve never seen before. Be sure to view the close up quilt photo of the corner of this item. You’ll clearly see the tiny stitches created by a clearly talented artist. In this Amish newborn infant quilt Overall Sam’s hat is embroidered in gray. We have two versions of this quilt. Center Diamond Red

Center Diamond Red – a very traditional Amish quilt

A Center Diamond Red is one of the most traditional Amish quilt patterns. It never ceases to amaze how modern these quilts really are. We have here “an extraordinary juxtaposition of glowing colors and a powerful simplicity of design that parallels abstract art at it’s best”*

Color field, minimalist, abstract painting. Think Mark Rothko, Ellsworth Kelly, Barnett Newman amongst others. And, at least 75 years before this movement, there were Red Center Diamond Amish quilts. If you don’t have millions of dollars, buy an Amish quilt!

Amish Patchwork Quilt

A Traditional Amish Patchwork Quilt in beautiful fall shades

Our Amish Patchwork quilt is both soothing and luscious. The quilter created it using colors that are similar to those used by the French Impressionist, Monet in his “Water Lilies” paintings. By themselves the 16 squares of fabric that make each patchwork square would not give the quilt the visual strength that it has. However, with the maker’s addition of the triangles on all four sides of the patchwork squares, the overall design is balanced and integrated. The patchwork squares touch and the open areas of the quilt coexist with the patchwork squares in negative and positive space. The maker ties it all together with a quilted navy blue sash.

Stars Over the Georgetown Path

The story of the Stars Over the Georgetown Path quilt pattern

We believe this beautiful quilt describes the journey of those seeking to escape slavery by traveling to and reaching the northern states and beyond into Canada. In the middle of the quilt burns a traditional 8-pointed Amish star: a star of faith, conviction and courage. In order to avoid detection and recapture, escapees had to travel at night. They relied upon the stars to point the way north, as represented by the stars that ring the quilt. After the inner Amish star is the pattern Drunkard’s Path which represents the evasive maneuvers taken to avoid detection. Like the rivers and streams followed by escapees, the Drunkards Path is meandering and winding. This is a strong, beautiful Amish textile. (Item 2036)

Broken Star Quilt – Burgundy/Navy

An Amish Broken Star quilt in dramatic colors

Here is a beautiful Amish Broken star quilt. The artist used an array of jewel toned burgundies and blues over a white background. As with any star pattern quilt, the piecing must be perfect to line up the many small diamond shaped pieces of fabric necessary to create a star within a star such as this. Every side of every diamond both the central and the outer star is hand quilted. Flowing feather hand quilted patterns surround the star. And just for good measure, there’s a hand quilted heart at each corner of this quilt.

Mariner’s Star

A heavily hand quilted Mariners Star Amish Quilt

The maker created this Mariners Star quilt by combining rich shades of jewel toned fabrics over a contrasting light background. She used both print and solid fabrics to create this quilt and hand quilted a wide array of patterns throughout the quilt’s open space including geometric shapes and feathers. Our Amish Spin Star (or Star Spin) is heavily hand quilted. The maker created the central star medallion, as well as all of the other stars and sash work in this quilt, using a wide array of rich print fabrics. Log Cabin Quilt Barn Raising Variation

Amish Log Cabin Quilt – Barn Raising pattern

This beautiful Log Cabin quilt is made of a selection of blue patterned fabrics. Many of these fabrics are accented with silver thread. The strips of fabric used to make the logs are very small and narrow. Every side of every log is quilted in the ditch. There is generous and precise hand quilting along the sides of this quilt. The bottom photo shows the two different twisted rope quilted patterns on each side. The history of the Log Cabin quilt pattern is interesting. Sunbonnet Sue quilt suitable for a newborn infant quilt. This Sunbonnet Sue is a departure from the traditional pattern and is filled with detail and amazing hand quilting. Sunbonnet Sue wears a bonnet of dark blue in this crib quilt. She’s carrying a basket of apples and walking with her kitten (be sure to view the close up photos to see all of the detail). All four sides of this baby quilt are scalloped. Please note that there is no hanging loop at the back of this quilt.

Overall Sam Newborn Crib Quilt

Overall Sam quilts typically feature Sam in several different squares. This Overall Sam crib quit is a bit different, featuring one highly detailed image of a young overall clad Amish boy playing with his puppy while kneeling in flowers and grass. This crib quilt is beautifully scalloped and hand bound on all four sides. The embroidery in this quilt is very colorful and the binding is blue – perfect for boys. Overall Sam’s hat is embroidered in yellow. Please note that this quilt does not have a hanging loop at the back.

Amish Crib Quilt – Sunbonnet Sue pattern. This crib quilt is the perfect size for a newborn. Designed, created and embroidered by an 86 year old woman who is truly the master of Amish embroidered arts! This beautiful little quilt features a young Amish girl gathering apples in a basket while walking through flowers with her kitten. Sunbonnet Sue is wearing a bonnet of bright blue. The central image is comprised of colorful and highly detailed embroidery. The artist hand bound scalloped edges in pink. Hand quilted petals wrap each scallop. Please note that there is no hanging loop at the back of this quilt.

Tumbling Blocks Baby Quilt

Tumbling Blocks Baby Quilt – amazing use of color to create a beautiful little unisex infant quilt. Amish Spirit is happy to present this traditional Tumbling Blocks pattern in a scaled down infant quilt size. The artist cleverly uses a mix of dye fast calico and solid fabrics to create interest and depth in this timeless quilt pattern. Be sure to view the detail photos of this quilt and you’ll see that the top of each Tumbling Block is a true diamond shaped piece of fabric. It’s far easier to create a Tumbling Blocks pattern by piecing together two triangles (into a diamond). As you can see, this artist didn’t take the easy way on this quilt and it was well worth her efforts. Our Tumbling Blocks Infant Quilt carries a border of a hand quilted rope pattern – an important component of any traditional Amish Quilt.

Sunshine and Shadows Baby Quilt

Sunshine and Shadows Baby Quilt – This quilt pattern is also called Trip Around the World and is one of the most popular traditional Amish Quilt Patterns. Our Sunshine and Shadows Baby Quilt is made up of varying shades of what many call traditional “Amish blue” fabric. We love this quilt for so many reasons. The hand quilted patterns around the borders are unique – we have not seen this pattern before or since. The back is of this baby quilt is the darkest blue shade you see on the front of the quilt. The hand quilting is precise and made up of tiny stitches. The hand bound edge is of a contrasting lighter blue. You can truly use and show off either side of this infant quilt. This much loved and admired Amish Quilt pattern is also called Sunshine and Shadows. We think you’ll agree that this is a great unisex quilt. Each side is bound with a different color (yellow, green, blue and pink). The body of the quilt is made up of the same four general colors, in both solid and print fabrics. The artist skillfully placed the varying colors of solid and print fabric to shadow each other. We think you’ll agree that this truly give this beautiful little baby quilt loads of depth and interest.

Log Cabin Infant Quilt – who doesn’t love this great traditional Amish Log Cabin Quilt pattern? The artist created our Log Cabin Infant Quilt using an array of solid colors including yellow, green, blue and pink. The color selection of dye fast fabrics makes this not only a lovely unisex infant quilt but a highly usable one as well. The “logs” of our Log Cabin Infant Quilt surround a central square of paisley print fabric. All “logs” are hand quilted in the ditch. Intertwined hand quilted hearts (and important part of any Amish Infant Quilt) are on all four sides.

The quilter combined gorgeous fabrics to give to this traditional pattern extra life and joy. She hand quilted flowers in the centers of each ring. The linked ring pattern goes all the way to the quilt’s edges. All four sides of this quilt are scalloped and hand bound.
