This quilt is an archetypal Color Splash: the finest we’ve ever seen. It comes from North Carolina. It isn’t new and it is in perfect condition. This is a hand quilted textile. It is an important and one of a kind quilt that was made around 75 to 90 years ago. The fabrics are long extinct. Some of them are miraculously beautiful contributing to this quilt’s radiance. Every 1.25″ square of fabric is hand quilted on all four sides! There are 6,724 squares! Art for the bedroom, for the bed or, for a wall.

In researching the Broken Dishes quilt pattern we found that it is an old pattern – one of the oldest, which makes sense: It is made entirely of sewn-together triangles. Brilliant in its simplicity and simple in its brilliance. Stories about the Broken Dishes pattern say that it represents the broken dishes left by settlers on their way west, but we doubt this to be true. This quilt is beautifully made, with perfect pieces and lots of great quilting. Every side of every triangle that makes up our Broken Dishes quilt has been hand quilted. Another thing about this quilt: by daylight or under lamplight it’s completely gorgeous. We love it!

Here we have a beautiful Amish 9 Patch quilt with appliqued hearts for a king size bed. Quilting and piecing are perfect. Fabrics are so thoughtfully selected that one can’t imagine – in all the universe – that there exists a fabric that could be substituted for any that you see here! The results? This 9 Patch Amish quilt is heavily hand quilted, and, the fabrics are beautiful. What we like best about this traditional pattern is that every time you look at a good 9 Patch quilt you see something you haven’t noticed before! In this particular quilt, the lighter patches appear to be floating above the 9 patches. (You can study these quilts and you’ll always be surprised.) (Item 2186)

This pattern suits either of its names: Fence Rail or Roman Bars. Our Amish quilt for sale is made entirely of various shades of contemporary gray print and solid fabrics. Quilted in the ditch of each “bar” or “rail” and heavily hand quilted around the quilt’s borders and sash work. The maker placed the darkest charcoal fabric to provide an optical illusion of a basket weave pattern.

Wow, folks. A Winters Night. We haven’t had a Winters Night quilt in almost 5 years. Love the pattern. Love the geometry. Great fabrics and always Amish world class piecing and hand quilting. In this quilt, the pattern and the fabrics especially stand out: because, while this quilt is full of motion it has a quietude. You know that during the night quiet while snow is falling, or the quiet of an early morning after a snowy night? This has it.

Traditional Patchwork quilts are deceptively difficult to make. In the case of our Patchwork quit, it’s clear that the Amish quilter who designed and made this quilt has strong technical abilities. It took great skill to perfectly align every small square of fabric in this quilt. The maker’s selection of colors and fabrics is bold. (Item 2224)

This pink and ivory Jacob’s Ladder works well on both king and queen sized beds. Each piece of fabric is hand quilted on all sides (a lot of quilting!). The floral hand quilting along the ivory sash of our Jacob’s Ladder quilt sets off and contrasts with the piecing giving unity and balance to this quilt overall.

This Amish Maple Leaf quilt is made of some stunning fabrics. Fanciful, but true to life, this quilt is the essence of a day when fall is at its peak: the crisp blues of a fall sky and, you can’t get over how clear it is through the changed leaves. What’s amazing about our Maple Leaf quilt? These leaves accurately portray fall: the first leaf close up with its reds and browns, the next with harvest grapes . . . it just shows you the extent to which the Amish are masters of this form of expression.
