Amish Heirloom quilt – a museum quality wholecloth quilt
The old order Amish make an Heirloom wholecloth quilt maybe once every three years. Initially Heirloom quilts were made to be given to someone starting a family of their own. It is prized and kept to be passed on, hence its name. It requires long hours and concentration to make this incredible quilt. An Heirloom quilt can only be executed by the very best quilters. Imagine the time it took to make this quilt. 1,200 yards of thread; 12 football fields (end to end) of thread to hand quilt this work of art. And it’s perfect! There are scallops on three sides. Quilts like this typically sell for twice the price we are selling ours for, and, they aren’t half as amazing or beautiful as this quilt. (Item 2233)
