Vintage (plus new!) Hand Sewn Hand Quilted Throw or Wall Hanging
This blanket is a mix of vintage and contemporary components. Purchased at an estate sale in New Milford, CT in the 1980’s we believe the fabrics are from the 1960’s. We love the muted, soft colors – especially since we no longer see them in today’s quilts. The quilt top was sewn together by hand and we felt it would be a shame to not finish it, making it into the contemporary quilt it deserves to be. We used a high loft batting, a soft pale blue cotton fabric for the back and added hanging loop and then hand quilted it into existence.
The result is a cozy, warm blanket (or throw) – great for napping. There is also a hanging sleeve sewn onto the back of the throw should you prefer to hang it on a wall. We love it!
