Tumbling Blocks Amish Quilt
Look around and you’ll see very few Tumbling Blocks quilts. It’s a very difficult pattern to piece and it’s time consuming to quilt. The combination of fabric and color with this old traditional pattern make this a contemporary and versatile quilt. Additionally, the maker pieced this quilt the way it should be: our detail photos show that the tops of each “block” are true diamonds. Typically, quilters utilize the faster, easier method of two sewn-together triangles to make that top diamond shape (or block “top”). It takes tremendous skill to sew these diamonds to the blocks’ sides without puckering the corners. The artist hand quilted every side of every diamond of every block!
