Mariners Star Amish Quilt

The first word we uttered when we saw this Mariners Star quilt was “Wow!”. The color given off by this quilt, based upon the selection of fabrics, grabs our attention. We see this color in the early dawn or at dusk – that still time between day and night. It is a difficult color to express and rarely seen outside of nature . . . and this quilt. The detail images show the very unusual fabrics: an array of geometrics and solids which enable the quilt to radiate just as we see with stars. Hand quilting is tiny and evenly spaced throughout, and, there’s lots of it.
