A gorgeous Amish applique quilt – Heart of Roses pattern
Our Heart of Roses Amish quilt is a heavily hand quilted white quilt. The maker appliqued a large garland of freehand cut roses in the shape of a heart in the center of the quilt (giving the quilt it’s apt name, Heart of Roses). An appliqued tendril of roses stretches across the pillow cover portion of the quilt, behind which is a hand quilted feathered wreath pattern. She also appliqued small bouquets at each corner. The appliqued flowers are depicted in various stages from full bloom to tight buds and partially opened flowers. The quilter tied everything together with embroidered stems. The fabrics are a blend of traditional and contemporary prints in shades of burgundy, blue and green. (Item 2131)
