An ingenious Log Cabin pattern – that’s round
The Log Cabin in the Round is made by arranging bars of fabric (or “logs”) in a way that creates arcs or curves. This is done with a piecing technique whereby the light colored logs are thicker than the colorful darker logs. Matched up, the variance in thickness gives what appears to be a curve or arc. The maker quilted every log “in the ditch.” Hand quilted feather patterns cover all of the remaining space. Colors in this quilt include various gray, black and burgundy. The quilter chose a variety of print fabrics and pieced them over a light background for contrast. (Item 2212)
