Our Blazing Stars Amish is pieced (in one plane). While it might appear to be appliqued, it’s not. How did the maker arrange the rectangular strips (or “logs”) of fabric so that they form curves? If you look closely you can see that the lighter logs are thicker than the colorful logs. While this is truly a piecing nightmare, it also makes curves out of straight lines. The maker quilted every log in the ditch. Fabrics are a mix of various shades of blue.
