An unusual Amish Applique Quilt – Country Roses Pattern
One of our most beautiful Amish applique quilts is of freehand cut roses in shades burgundy, red and green. There is an incredible amount of work in this quilt. A bow, hearts, roses and leaves are arranged across the top of this quilt. The central portion of the quilt bears a wreath of the same elements. Each corner of the quilt has it’s own bouquet of roses. Look at all the work in just this one quilt! The embroidered elements lend depth and compliment the appliqued flowers, vines and leaves. The hand quilting is varied and expansive. We see braids, wreaths, linear patterns and and garlands. What we all seem to like best are the colors of the freehand cut appliques that make up the overall pattern of this quilt. Truly, a great example of Amish applique art.
