Log Cabin in the Round Quilt – a Log Cabin pattern variation
Imagine rectangular “logs” of fabric arranged in such a way as to create curves! This is a very interesting variation of a traditional Log Cabin Quilt pattern. The light “logs” are actually thicker than the colorful “logs”. This difference in size makes piecing much more difficult but it also creates the resulting round shapes. The quilter did a superb job of piecing this quilt. Every log is quilted “in the ditch.” Hand quilted feather patterns cover all of the remaining space. Fabrics are a mix of solids and prints in a wide array of colors. (Item 2153)
